An important RI House bill to better support shoreline access rights will be discussed in a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday, March 28.
The hearing will start around 4:30 pm on Tuesday in Room 101 of the RI State House. A number of bills will be heard (agenda here) including H-5174 which better defines the "high tide line."
Many proposed bills die in committee so the success of this one depends on testimony by citizens wanting it to succeed.
In simple terms, this bill specifies the high tide line as the seaweed line plus 6 feet. The bill is easy to read and only 5 pages long.
If you want to support clearer shoreline access, it's important to try to contribute.
