Join us tomorrow, Friday, June 2nd for s'mores, campfires, and hiking to celebrate the opening of a new trail extension at Mill Pond Preserve! The extension highlights Charlestown's natural diversity as it takes you uphill, through meadows and forest, and ultimately to Hannah Clarkin Pond, making the blue trail a one-and-a-half-mile hike. This trail was planned by CLT intern Evan Travis as a part of his senior project and was constructed by a group of wonderful volunteers.
If you’d like to join a guided hike, Evan will be leading a walk at 5:00 pm and detail the ins and outs of his project. (Our 5:30 hike with Robin Baranowski, URI field botanist, is currently full.) Around 6:00 pm we light the chimineas!
Mill Pond Preserve is across from East Charles St. on South County Trail. Sturdy shoes suggested. Feel free to bring additional snacks and camp chairs. PLEASE RSVP!
