Come on out to Books On The Pond (289 Narrow Lane, across from Dunkin' Donuts) on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. for some letter writing and good conversation about shoreline access.
This is being organized by Scott Keeley who is encouraging people to write their state representatives as well as the shoreline access study commission to remind them of the importance of the public's access to the shore.
House Bill 5469, as originally written, sought to decriminalize our constitutional rights to the shore while fairly considering both sides of the issue. Those who wish to privatize the RI shore are fighting this bill with attorneys and funding, making it essential for average people to defend their rights.
Please spread the word and come to Books On The Pond this Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. for a letter writing gathering. Stamps, envelopes, inspiration, refreshments and free seaweed bags to any who write a letter.
