Charlestown Residents United (CRU), a political action group renowned for fostering positive change, is shining a light on the true spirit of the holiday season through an inspiring demonstration of generosity.
Under the leadership of Chair Tim Quillen, CRU supporters, in collaboration with local contributors, are joining forces to support
underserved members of the community, with a particular focus on those associated with the Region 3 Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) office.
In a remarkable display of community unity, CRU has forged partnerships with local businesses and community members to provide substantial donations, including clothing, gifts, and toys, to the Region 3 DCYF office. Notably, Roof Rite, a local business, has stepped up by contributing $1000.00 to bolster CRU's efforts. This significant donation has empowered the purchase of essential items for DCYF, provided gift cards for the Domestic Violence Resource Center (DVRC), and supported the Friends of Charlestown Animal Rescue through donations of items and food. Additionally, a portion of the funds has been allocated to back Operation Stand Down, which aids homeless and at-risk veterans.
"In times like these, it's crucial that we come together as a community to support those in need. Charlestown Residents United is proud to stand side by side with our neighbors, ensuring that everyone can experience the joy of the holidays," says Tim Quillen, Chair of CRU.
Charlestown prepares for a transformative leap into 2024 with renewed optimism.
With a steadfast commitment to progress, unity, and community well-being, our town is poised to enter the next phase of infrastructure and communal development.
About CRU:
Founded in 2015 as a ballot advocacy group, Charlestown Residents United (CRU) has evolved into a political action committee dedicated to supporting candidates who prioritize transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in local governance. CRU's commitment to community well-being extends beyond the holiday season, as exemplified by their successful advocacy for a $1M recreation bond. This marked the beginning of their dedication to enhancing the quality of life in Charlestown.
