Our preview of this meeting was published here.
The evening started with an Executive Session (agenda packet here, video here) to discuss the possible land acquisition of the lot at the corner of South County Trail and New Biscuit City Road (Lot 43-1). After the Executive Session the Council voted to request an advisory opinion on the property from the Conservation Commission, the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Planning Commission, and the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association regarding the potential purchase and an advisory opinion from Town Wastewater Specialist Matt Dowling regarding the potential placement of a dry hydrant on that property, reporting by October 10, 2023.
The Council voted to approve a Food Truck Festival for Saturday, October 7, from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm. It will include a "Field of Artisans" vendor area.
The Shannock Falls affordable housing development is having a change of ownership. There is not a requirement to notify the town but they are asking for an agreement by the Town because of the Town's contribution to the project. The Consent Certificate for the Town's approval can be seen here. The Council approved that Consent Certificate.
The meeting adjourned at 7:24 pm.
